RRD takes a unique approach to developing harnesses with two main factors in our designer’s mind: The shape of the body and the forces created by the pull of the equipment, whether it is about kiteboarding or windsurfing. As an example, it’s easy to understand the difference in the body position and thus harness requirements between overpowered riding, fun freeriding or wave riding.
The RRD waist harness range comes in different types of fit, suitable for different body shapes and differences in riding style. Nonetheless, for the first time this year, we are proud to introduce our all-new SHIELD, RRD’s first low profile carbon outer shield harness, made with the stiffest and lightest material, that gives the most support without sacrificing weight.

SHIELD Harness
KITE WAIST HIGH-END
The all-new premium Shield harness introduces our low profile carbon outer shield, which is made with the stiffest and lightest material that gives the most support without sacrificing weight, for maximum back support and performance, during long or powerful sessions. The lightweight carbon material doesn’t absorb water so it stays light. The naturally curved back and pre-shape gives you superior back support without losing freedom of movement and performance on the water. The Unibelt bar stabilizer is an exclusive feature to the Shield harness. It simplifies the belt- and closure construction and locks the bar into place, to eliminate ride-up of the hook. The Unibelt can easily be converted to a wave harness by installing the aftermarket shield specific rope bar conversion kit.

The Shift pro is the most comfortable harness in the range, suitable for people with a natural to flat lower back shape. The thicker, larger and less curved inner plate spreads the load widely over your whole back. This combined with the tender neoprene and EVA grip inside results in maximum comfort for everyday and powerful riding. The new neoprene padded spreaderbar with stabilizer wings locks the bar in place and eliminates the hook riding up and protects your ribs.

The Thrive harness has a more vertically curved shape. This makes it the choice for users with a more curved lower back or riders that prefer a more upright riding position, like free-riding and down the line wave riding. The new padded spreaderbar with stabilizer wings locks the bar in place and eliminates the hook riding up and protects your ribs.

KR SEAT Harness
KITE SEAT SCHOOL
RRD’s KR seat harness is given a lower hook position to get the pull of the kite close to the users center of gravity. This principle minimizes the pressure on the lower back and abdominal muscles. Furthermore it gives it’s user superb stability and the possibility to handle strong forces on the body. The harness is curved around the hips in a natural surf-stance to ensure a great seat part-fit that stays in position.

ROPE SPREADERBAR
Our all new Rope Spreaderbar will convert any harness in our collection besides the Shield, which requires a specific rope bar conversion kit, into a wave orientated harness.
The extremely durable Spectra rope bar with the sliding ring, will replace your standard hook.
This allows you a wider range of motion while wave riding, letting the chickenloop slide from side to side of the rope.
Toe-side or backside wave riding has never been this easy. The Rope Spreaderbar will also help extending your turns without the kite limiting your body rotations.
Be ready for some next level wave-riding.
The V1 version of the Rope Spreaderbar will fit on the previous RRD models, while the V2 is what you need if your choice is one of the models from the Y23 collection.
